2019 books

“Liftoff – start and sustain successful agile teams” by Diana Larsen and Ainsley Nies

Favourite book of the year.

Changed my entire outlook about starting a project.

I’m confident about starting any new project now.

“Product roadmaps relaunched” by Lombardo, McCrathy, Ryan, Connors

Excellent resource for visualising and communicating the outcomes of a project.

Compatible and essential for agile teamwork and stakeholders

“Succeeding with Agile” by Mike Cohn

Required reference material for working in scrum / software development!

“Work together anywhere – a handbook on working remotely” by Lisette Sutherland

Started implementing a remote-first team after reading this.

Couldn’t have had a better resource to read before the effects that COIVD had on team working.

Very comprehensive – no need to read the first 6 chapters anymore; we’re remote-first whether we like it or not.

“Outcomes over outputs” by Josh Seiden

When is a project ‘done’? When is Google done?

Outputs (features) may lead you nowhere. Base decision making on outcomes (e.g. north star metrics) rather than outputs to measure success as a change a customer behaviour.
