Not every problem needs to be dealt with straight away. Sometimes, they don’t need to be solved or sometimes some dithering is no bad thing.
I remember once when my daughter was very young. We needed a gate to put on the stairs to stop her crawling and falling down the stairs. I was round a friend’s house and spotted that he had one and mentioned that I need to get one. He said I could take it. His wife had been asking him to sell it, anyway, but he hadn’t got round to it.
So I took the baby gate.
Some years later, my friend asked me if he could have his baby gate back because his wife was expecting another child. Fortunately, we no longer needed it and in fact I had also been asked to get rid of it recently (but hadn’t got round to it!) so it kind of sorted itself out, fortuitously.
