frontiership: dreams, teams and liftoffs

Forming the Circle

The past year or so had brought chaos into our lives, as well as fear and frustration – and we wanted to break through it.

We wanted to create a circle to support each other and somehow lift ourselves to the next level, especially throughout this period of uncertainty. What gets you through life? It’s your allies, and your best insurance in a crisis.

We are also collaborative species. We work in teams and packs, and even though we need time alone, we cannot be compared to other solitary animals, like an albatross gliding across huge stretched of the Atlantic. It’s through collaboration that we survive. It is through collaboration that we even evolved into Homo sapiens and transcended the dynamics of the primate species.

We wanted to link up a few shared interests which we were each individually exploring, and somehow, those interests appeared to have some common direction.

We could see the synergies but we didn’t yet quite know what it was. Either way, we figured that if we teamed up we’d have a better chance of getting there.

As we continued, we wrote down what we believed in.

“We believe in a more creative and beautiful world inspired by a timeless quest towards the deep why, where everyone feels a part of something greater than themselves and has a deeper sense of meaning in life.”

We then created some values. The values were both to enable and constrain our behaviours to the right amount that we can find the clues and find the necessary focus to follow the right paths.

Consciously connecting with others to increase our potential for good

Haphazardly disrupting paradigms in order to break through them

Gloriously provoking ideas in a safe and creative space

Coincidentally experimenting to explore and create new ‘possibles‘

Absurdly playing with serious ideas for a purpose

Intentionally lifting one-an-other through the moments we create

Collectively transcending to strive for a more desirable future

In reality, we had no idea what lay beyond the mist on the grand shoreless lake of infinite possibilities. We had no idea what we would find. But we now had everything we needed: some clues, some friends, some promises and a mutual trust.

A trust in ourselves. Trust in each other. A trust in the direction in which we were going and a trust in the values we created to guide us towards our vision.

The thrill of the adventure:

“I mean thrilling because of going to the edge, going beyond the edge, having company there, finding things which you can bring back and they work, and they become part of everything.”

I wrote this with the hope that there are one or two clues for you that I might have accidentally and unwittingly left lying around. If I’m lucky, a meaningful clue will pop into your mind when you need it, when you dig deep, when you’re called. Take it.
