I dreamt in the night that I was overlooking a lake. I was calmly sitting on a verandah with my daughter. Someone pointed out that there was a tornado in the sky. I looked over and watched the tornado approach closer. It became deep blood red and then it hit the lake, forming a deep whirlpool. There were people swimming in the lake who were now being sucked into the whirlpool one by one. I saw one girl and I knew that she was someone’s daughter, and as I watched her being pulled into the whirlpool, I stood up and was about to jump in to save her, but had to stop myself knowing that I’d get pulled in too, and I didn’t want to leave my daughter.
When I woke up, I knew that this was a significant dream, so I wrote it down, not realising the significance or the symbology until later. In fact, I was dreaming ahead in time, which later surprised me when I realised.
We were in Wales, staying on the edge of the Brecon beacons natural park, in a lodge at the edge of a small village. We were surrounded by forest and just a stone’s throw from the cascading river and the waterfalls.
Our plans were vague with some key intentions: to initiate, to relax the boundaries, to vision about a future state we wanted to achieve and to reintegrate ourselves with dignity into the society after our journey.
We – Matt, Jeremy and I – were in the process of forming a triad or collective together, so on this trip one outcome was to finalise our vision, and to do that we wanted to experiment with a few different ways of altering our states of consciousness, to aid us reach that deep why which will guide us onwards. We also just wanted to have a weekend together of adventure, being in nature and camaraderie.
This is the story about a shared urge, a clue and a journey.
