I was recently invited by Natalija Helscoe (author of book ‘OKRs at the Centre‘) to give an online talk about our Saltwood start-up and how we were able to use one good OKR to get our business started.
Here are the slides:
After the talk a few of us ‘hung around’ online and chatted further. I was really pleased to get some positive feedback. I was most pleased to hear from a fellow agile coach that it was so refreshing to see somebody write such a ‘crisp and clear objective’. He related how natural it is to get carried away with objectives, to the extent that one of his teams wrote a 112 word objective!
For us, the objective was creating a statement about a shared intention in the future – something that was easily memorable and asiprational. Something that we thought about all the time and to which we wanted to pull ourselves closer – that’s an objective.
