Antifragility and Social Complexity

Ari-Pekka Skarp and I had a wonderful conversation about #antifragility , #agility and #socialcomplexity and one interesting reflection, for me at least, was still on the topic of burnout (a sort of fragility localised at the individual level) and how it’s a lagging indicator – once it’s happened, it’s basically already too late – but how do we make leading indicators of potential burnout (whatever they might be) impactful enough (needs to be some sort of stressor!) to the organisation to prompt it to actually adapt? Because adaption will have costs attached to it. By simply replacing burned out colleagues, it doesn’t change anything, it’ll just happen again. So what does it take to prompt an organisation to adapt to potential burnout? Something to reflect on further! I’m sure some organizations are doing this already.
